Jack Lovell - Chorus Director
Jack Lovell, Spires’ chorus director and orchestra co-ordinator, is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s Orchestral Conducting masters course.
He is currently the Music Director for Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra, Birmingham Gay Symphony Orchestra, Stafford Sinfonia and Opera’r Ddraig, a young artists’ opera company based in Cardiff.
He has worked extensively with every ensemble at the Royal Welsh College and the University of Birmingham, whilst an undergraduate there, and has guest conducted with the Asklepios and Charnwood Orchestras as well as with Operamus, Midland Opera and Canton Chorus.
Jack worked with the Welsh National Opera in their recent award-winning production of Britten’s Paul Bunyan. Other recent engagements include a production of Acis and Galatea in Somerset with Donald Maxwell and making his Royal Opera House debut as Assistant Conductor for David Bruce’s The Firework-Maker’s Daughter.
